It's been a while, but here I am again. I've been really busy with other obligations, but if you're reading this blog I doubt you're here to hear about them.
I try to only post out-of-print music here, but at the risk of making someone mad, I'm going to deviate from that for a while and talk about some new stuff I've gotten lately. I picked up this brand new Manipulation 7" from Fashionable Idiots about a week ago after hearing a sample track and instantly becoming hooked. Manipulation is a hardcore band from Chicago with members of Chronic Seizure, Pedestrians, and Civic Progress according to the label website. What's inside is furious hardcore that's doing everything right; I've played this record at least ten times every day since I've gotten it. Includes three songs from their demo and two new (I guess) ones as well. I only hope that ripping on my awful equipment does it justice. Someone claimed this was going to be some of the best material of 2010, and I can see why it might. Check this out, and if you like it, buy a copy. Hurry up though, because there are only 100 of them.
I also just realized that Manipulation is ex-This Is My Fist!, which probably means that Seth from Love Songs fame is in this band since he moved to Chicago. I could be wrong (edit: I am, it's actually Annie - thanks, anonymous commenter. Totally would have known that if I looked closer at the lineup in the sleeve.), but in any case, nerding out in progress

There were 500 of the first press and there's a second press about to be out. And a new record on Sorry State. Thanks for the rip!
